How exactly does my purchase help someone in need?
Every piece sold in each collection will go towards funding a different project. When all of the items in the collection sell out then the project is funded.
How do you pick which projects to fund?
We fund projects that we feel closely connected with. We meet with the non-profits, hear their story and see their work firsthand. We then work together to put together a collection that will help fund one of their initiatives. If you are a non-profit or you have an idea for a project that we can fund you can fill out the form here.
What is your return policy?
We want to make sure that you love every single piece that you order. So if you are dissatisfied with the item you ordered you can simply fill out the return form here. Items must not be worn and must be returned within 15 days in order to receive a full refund. Remember that your return will affect the progress of each charitable initiative.
Where do you get the clothes that are in each collections?
There are a few ways that we get our items in each collection. We partner with designers, we partner with retailers and we fabricate. Our fabrication is done here in the US in Austin, TX.
I would like to volunteer, how can i help?
As a startup we are always looking for help, especially since the purpose of our company is to help fund as many projects as possible and help change lives around the world. If you are passionate about our vision and mission email us. We would love to hear from you.
How do i determine what size i am?
I would recommend getting a fabric measuring tape. You can order one here. You should measure yourself every couple of months. Follow the measurement guidelines here. We will try to have as much information on size and length to help you determine what size you need to order. Also we use real life people in our photos. We did this so that you can get a real assessment of how the garment will look.
Can i purchase items as a gift?
Yes you can! We encourage purchasing items in our store as gifts as your gift will be meaningful. Make sure to check the checkbox stated “purchasing as a gift.” This will prompt you with a way that you can include a personalized message.
Can i just donate to help fund the project?
Yes you can! Whether it’s selling the items in the collection- or collecting donations. Our goal is to make sure that these projects are funded so that others can get the help that they need. If you wish to make a donation you can send a check to (PO Box) or send us an email here.
If i purchased an item(s) in a collection, will i be notified when the project has been completed?
Yes you will. Diana, founder of House of Darlings, personally oversees the project and works hands on with the charities to ensure that they project has been completed. You will receive information as soon as the project is underway. You can also check your profile for updates.
If i purchased an item(s) in a collection, can i help or participate in the project?
Depending on the project. Non-profits are always looking for volunteers but some of these projects are in other countries. We can certainly get you connected with the non-profit and request that you see the work that they are doing first hand. If the project is in another county you will need to cover any costs to travel, lodging, etc. Email us here if you are interested.
